In the news...

Published by Sophia & Jenny on 21st Jan 2013 @ 14:05

Britain’s high street won’t go down without a fight!

Following a sad week after the loss of nostalgic retailers HMV, Jessops and Blockbuster, new questions have been asked as to whether Britain’s high streets are in permanent decline. We have certainly noticed the disappearance of leading fashion/lifestyle stores in our local shopping centre and many plots left open and derelict. We can only assume that sales are not great so where are all the shoppers?

Without trying to sound like a broken record - the age of online shopping has never been so great and traditional brands that combine their internet expertise with convenient stores in shopping centres are leading the way by creating a successful shopping environment both on and offline. By offering new interactive customer experiences in store that break down the viewers barrier and by embracing the smart phone with apps consumers are much more likely to purchase at the touch of their thumb with technology advancing into new directions every day.

Online retailers are increasingly competing against Amazon and leading supermarkets which offer the greatest choice at the best price however what they fail to offer is a customer experience that many consumers still like to shop this way and so the retailer’s main battle is appealing to both the savvy media consumer and the more traditional in-store shopper.

We however, are not going anywhere and taken the bull by the horns by offering expert advice at our fantastic store on Edgware Road where customers can browse our online range with in-store i-pads as well as try on the exclusive store range with the luxury of a private balcony room overlooking the store. We hope to see the rest of British retailers fighting to keep their rightful place on the high street too!

'and the award goes to...'

Published by Sophia & Jenny on 14th Jan 2013 @ 09:52

..WatchWarehouse for the best blog? We can only dream. More importantly, the 70th Golden Globes were held in the stunning Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA last night with a whole host of famous faces hoping to walk away with one of the industries most prestigious award!

It was a hugely successful evening for British film and television with Damian Lewis scooping Best Actor in a television drama for the increasingly popular Homeland. Tom Hoopers Les Mis (which we've still yet to see) won Best Picture which couldn't be more of an incentive and finally the ever so humble Adele won Best Original Song for her stunning performace in Skyfall.

The evening was filled with award season glamour and we have picked some classic timepieces fit for the red carpet inspired by Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway and Claire Danes stunning numbers.

So we have kept you updated throughout the week now let us give you an overview on the dynamic event that has been the talk of London the past few days!

We have been spoilt for choice with some of the Top Designers showcasing their beautiful collections such as Chritopher Raeburn with his Trademark Parka Jackets showing innovation by updating the classic look. Hardy Aimes wowed us with their uptake on tailoring making the modern man look effortlessly stylish in checks and glorious greys.

We have chosen one of our favourite catwalks from the shows to share with you, check out the Topman Design Catwalk from day one, there are some amazing pieces that we can definitely seen worn around the likes of London! Think warm tones, reds, oranges with alot of creams and black setting the tone for a pleasing Autumn/Winter palette.

Match the trend with one of our Boss Orange watches! They show case the perfect tones and are super stylish designs to compliment the collection.

London Collections:Men Day 3

Published by Sophia & Jenny on 09th Jan 2013 @ 16:30

As day 3 draws to an exciting close the more eccentric designers have come out to play and made a fantastic impact!

Images supplied by GQ.com

Nordic themes from ones to watch Shaun Samson, horror movie fun with Christopher Kane and strong signature checks in quirky tashed up models have been a source of entertainment for the office! Finally, what’s your opinion in men in skirts? JW Andersons controversial collections had the male models showing off their pins in frilly mini skirts, short shorts and riding boots…needless to say we’re not convinced.

We have picked a few of our fashion watches that compliment the trends perfectly. The large black and white Ice Watch is a clear favorite and the perfect accessory to add a little fun into your life.

Final overview of what’s been trending this week at LCM coming tomorrow!

London Collections:Men Day 2

Published by Sophia & Jenny on 08th Jan 2013 @ 17:00

Smart and stylish has been today’s signature looks from Mr Start, Hackett London, Richard Nicoll and the NewGen men! Not to mention the eagerly anticipated Alexander McQueen first ever men’s collection showing this evening still to come.

Images taken from GQ.com

Hackett opened with very Downton Abby esq looks and reflected the perfect English gent in the tailoring with 3 piece suits, silk scarves, pocket squares and introducing some hints of strong vibrant colours towards the end.  Mt Start on the other hand was just effortlessly simple. This season Shoreditch boutique was a front runner, no more riff raff in this gaff! There was a mixture of beautifully cut dinner jackets with heavy belted coats beautiful knits coming in every rich autumnal color there is.

We thought it only right to match these exquisite designs with the most luxury watches we have to offer! GC, Raymond Weil and Versace are amongst a few of our luxury brands available online but instore however we also stock Chanel.

Check back tomorrow for the final day round up.

Mens fashion week kicks off today showcasing the latest in creative talent in menswear. Day One includes presentations from eclectic Fashion East designers, the inspirational Meadham and Kirchhoff and high street leaders Topman. We have picked out some classic men’s timepieces that compliment Autumn/Winter 2013-14 emerging trends.

Images taken from GQ.com

Topman displayed strong outerwear looks starting with Arctic white parkas with thick roll necks as it blended nicely through to cream, gold, orange, berry red and finally a classic midnight blue suit. It was clear that influences had come from exploring and the great outdoors. Parka jackets were strong throughout, almost shown in every colour yet still remaining dapper.
